Meeting the Gold Standard in LIMS Security & Compliance: QBench Receives SOC 2 Type II Audit Report with No Exceptions

QBench SOC 2 Type II Audited badge

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in QBench’s ongoing commitment to security and data protection. After a long and thorough audit, QBench has officially completed its SOC 2 Type II Audit for 2023 and received a full attestation with no exceptions! An independent, third-party firm, KickpatrickPrice, completed the SOC 2 Type II audit. You can read their announcement congratulating us on their blog. The attestation provides evidence that QBench has a strong commitment to security, has the necessary internal controls in place, and follows those controls precisely.

What is a SOC 2 Type II Audit?

The Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type II Audit is an in-depth audit that assesses a service organization’s controls relevant to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. The SOC 2 Type II certification is tailored for technology and cloud computing firms, such as QBench, and is considered the gold standard in ensuring data security.

Why is an Audit with No Exceptions Significant?

An exception on the report would mean that a security control was not designed appropriately or did not operate as intended. An audit with no exceptions showcases our team’s meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication to the best security practices. This milestone underlines QBench’s pursuit of excellence in every aspect of our operations. Completing a SOC 2 Type II audit every year demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the highest security standards and protocols. Our customers can be confident that their sensitive information is in good hands in our secure and compliant LIMS.

We serve customers across several regulated industries, many of which have stringent data protection policies. Laboratories in the healthcare industry are subject to HIPAA, which requires strict data confidentiality and integrity. Labs working in the food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries are subject to FDA 21 CFR Part 11, which requires labs using Software as a Service (SaaS) systems like QBench to guarantee the authenticity and credibility of digital records and signatures. An audit with no exceptions reassures our customers that we manage their sensitive information with the utmost care and signifies our commitment to helping them meet their regulatory obligations.

Going Forward

Receiving an attestation with no exceptions is a significant accomplishment, but it is just the starting point for QBench. We regularly review and update our security controls to show our continuous adherence to best-in-class data security and integrity practices.

We want to thank our dedicated team, who worked diligently to ensure our systems and controls met the rigorous standards of a SOC 2 Type II audit. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to our customers for their ongoing trust in our services. Lastly, we’d like to thank our auditor, KickpatrickPrice.

To our current customers, thank you for your trust and partnership. To prospective customers, we look forward to showing you the QBench difference in the level of service and security we provide. At QBench, your security is our priority. We’re not just committed to maintaining the status quo - we’re committed to setting the standard for data security in the LIMS market.
