QBench January 2, 2024 Product Release Notes

Here’s another QBench release chock full of features you asked for and a bit of holiday cheer – Happy Holidays everyone!  Do you need unique IDs? Then you’re in luck. This release contains a large update that allows you to create your own unique IDs on many data types to supplement the QBench unique IDs.

Are you a QBench customer with ideas for new features? We’d love to hear them. Use the "Submit Feedback" link in your user dropdown menu to submit your ideas and vote on feature requests. The requests with the most votes get considered in our roadmap planning.

What’s New:

Features from Customer Requests (You asked, we delivered!)

  • You can now configure a Help Center for the Customer Portal V2. See below for more details.
  • Accepted Quotations always add assays to the Customer Billing tab. See below for more details.
  • Batch Usage on the Equipment details page (specifically the Usage Tab) does not show Batch Usage if Batches are not enabled in the General Settings. See below for more details.
  • Source-level fields are now available on the Test List page view. See below for more details.
  • The Default Sort on Test List Page now sorts Samples with multiple Tests of the same Assay by Test ID (in descending order). See below for more details.
  • Admins can now configure a new Unique Additional Field Type on Orders, Samples, Tests, Sources, Projects, Epics, Batches, Controls, Assays, Panels, Customers, Invoices, Suppliers, Contracts, Equipment, Documents, Issues, Inventory Items, Inventory Stock, and Locations. See below for more details.

Customer Portal V2

  • You can now configure a Help Center for the Customer Portal V2. See below for more details. This allows you to publish tips, upload guides, and upload documents for your customers to review.
  • Customer Portal users can now view, select, and copy Test Worksheet data in the Customer Portal V2. This allows your customers to copy and paste data into their own spreadsheets if needed. For Spreadsheet Worksheets and Dynamic Worksheets, only the Customer Portal Export Range is visible in the Customer Portal V2. The worksheet data only displays when both Test results and Worksheet data are in the Released state.

Billing & Quotations

  • Administrators can optionally specify accepted Quotations to always add assays to the Customer Billing tab. When a Customer accepts a quotation, the assays will show up in the Customer Billing tab regardless of whether the quotation was different from the actual assay Billing tab prices.

Equipment

  • Batch Usage on the Equipment details page (specifically the Usage Tab) does not show Batch Usage if Batches are not enabled in the General Settings. Only Test Usage is shown. This helps avoid any confusion if a lab does not use Batches.

Tests

  • You can now view the first three Fields for Assays when selecting an Assay on the Test List Page Filters. This makes it easier to differentiate between different Assays.
  • Source-level fields are now available on the Test List page view. This allows you to include those fields in exports from the page.
  • The Default Sort on Test List Page now sorts Samples with multiple Tests of the same Assay by Test ID (in descending order). This allows you to see the Tests in descending order and more easily scan the list of Tests.

Configuration – Unique Additional Field Type

  • Admins can now configure a new Unique Additional Field Type on Orders, Samples, Tests, Sources, Projects, Epics, Batches, Controls, Assays, Panels, Customers, Invoices, Suppliers, Contracts, Equipment, Documents, Issues, Inventory Items, Inventory Stock, and Locations. This allows you to create and enforce your own unique IDs in addition to the unique QBench IDs. For example, this could be used to track unique testing kit IDS and other unique IDs for testing kit audit tracking. You do this by going to Configuration => Application => Fields and Data Types and then choosing the Make Unique option on a Text or Number data type when creating a new field.
