QBench May 26, 2026 Product Release Notes

This release focuses on smoother self-service experiences in the Customer Portal, stronger scalability for high-volume configuration, and faster, more reliable Worksheet and Log workflows— plus a few thoughtful UX touches to keep help and support one click away.

Are you a QBench customer with ideas for new features? We’d love to hear them. Use the "Submit Feedback" link in your user dropdown menu to submit your ideas and vote on feature requests. The requests with the most votes get considered first in our roadmap planning.

Customer Requests (You asked, we delivered!)

  • Publish or Withdraw Individual Printdocs in the Customer Portal: Control exactly which generated Printdocs are visible to portal users. See details below.
  • Support Larger Spreadsheet Log Entry Templates: Save Log entries from large Spreadsheet and QWML templates without hitting size limits. See details below.
  • Upload and Review Up to 1,000 Samples in Customer Portal Excel Imports: The Sample list now supports larger uploads with pagination and clearer limits. See details below.
  • Edit Tests Inside Panels in Customer Portal: Update Test details at the individual Assay level within a Panel during Order requests. See details below.
  • Faster Specifications Management for Large Assays: The Specifications tab on the Assay detail page supports thousands of Specifications. See details below.

Help & Resources

  • A New In-App Help Menu Across QBench: A new persistent question mark menu is now available across QBench, giving users a single place to find Documentation, Training Center, Release Notes, and quick paths to submit feedback or contact support.

Assays & Specifications

  • Faster Specifications Management for Large Assays: The Specifications tab on the Assay detail page now supports pagination and loads quickly even when an Assay has thousands of Specifications. Specifications are grouped by Source and paginated using standard QBench pagination controls, and Specification items are fetched on demand when editing—so teams can reliably view, add, edit, and delete Specifications at scale.

Customer Portal

  • Upload and Review Up to 1,000 Samples in Customer Portal Excel Imports: When uploading the Sample Excel template in Customer Portal v2, the Sample list now paginates so users can view and manage all uploaded Samples (up to 1,000) without the UI stopping at 150. Uploads over 1,000 rows are now rejected with a clear error message, and smaller Orders continue to display normally without pagination.
  • Edit Tests Inside Panels in Customer Portal: Customer Portal v2 now supports editing individual Test-level fields for Assays inside a Panel during the Review Order step. Panels can be expanded to show child Assays, with each Assay row supporting its own Edit and Delete actions—while preserving the intended behavior for Panel-level changes that apply across the full Panel.

Reports & Printdocs

  • Publish or Withdraw Individual Printdocs in the Customer Portal: A new “Published to Portal” column is now available on the Print tabs for Orders, Samples, and Tests (when Customer Portal v2 is enabled), allowing users to publish or withdraw specific generated Printdocs. Printdocs can also be published/withdrawn via API v2, and publish activity records who published (including LIMS users, portal contacts, or API clients) and when. Template configuration now separates “visible in portal” from whether newly generated Printdocs should auto-publish, providing clearer control over what appears in the portal.

Logs

  • Support Larger Spreadsheet Log Entry Templates: QBench now supports significantly larger Spreadsheet and QWML Log entries by increasing the storage limit for Log Worksheet data. This prevents “data too long” failures when saving Log entries created from large imported Worksheet templates, while keeping existing Log entries readable and editable.
