QBench January 6, 2026 Product Release Notes

New year, new configurations—this release is packed with improvements to help you kick off 2026 with smarter workflows and streamlined control. From custom cloning configurations to a redesigned Assay Catalog tab and tighter visibility controls in the Customer Portal, QBench continues to adapt to your lab's evolving needs.

Customer Requests (You asked, we delivered!)

  • Assay Catalog Tab Redesign: The Billing tab on Customer Details has been renamed and reorganized for clarity. See details below.
  • Customer-Specific Assays in CPv2: Optionally limit visible Assays and Panels in the Customer Portal based on Customer relationships. See details below.
  • Custom Cloning Options: New configuration options allow cloning of Attachments and Worksheets in Orders and Tests. See details below.

Customer Management

Assay Catalog Tab Redesign: The “Billing” tab on the Customer Details page has been renamed to “Assay Catalog” and restructured to improve usability and clarity. Assays, Panels, and billing-related sections now appear as separate, collapsible sections. This allows users to easily find what they need and update only the relevant section without affecting others.

Key enhancements:

  • Assays and Panels are now split into dedicated sections.
  • Billing-related settings and Assay Category Discounts are shown only if the Billing module is enabled.
  • The Assay Catalog tab is visible for all Customers and will be disabled (grayed out) for sub-Customers when billing inheritance is enabled.

Cloning Configurations

Custom Cloning Configuration: Admins can now fine-tune what gets cloned when duplicating Orders or Tests:

  • For Orders: Choose whether Attachments should be included in the clone.
  • For Tests: Choose to include Worksheets—including QWML, Spreadsheet Worksheets, and Dynamic Worksheets.

All cloning options are managed through the Field & Configuration settings under the relevant data type. By default, these new fields are unchecked, giving teams full control over what data is carried over.

Customer Portal v2 Plus

Restrict Assay/Panel Visibility by Customer: You can now limit which Assays and Panels appear in the Customer Portal v2 based on the Customer’s assigned Assays/Panels:

  • When enabled in General Settings, portal users will only see Assays and Panels explicitly assigned to their Customer record.
  • If no Assays/Panels are assigned, the full list will appear as a fallback.
  • This gives labs tighter control over what Customers can see and order, improving compliance and reducing errors.

Performance

  • Optimized Equipment Search Endpoint: We’ve optimized the performance of the Equipment search endpoint used throughout QBench (e.g., on Batch, Test, Inventory, Reservation pages). These improvements reduce query time and ensure faster loading in dropdowns and search results.
  • Optimized Inventory Stock Search Endpoint: The Inventory Stock search endpoint has also been improved. This ensures smoother performance across dropdowns on the Batch Detail, Test Detail, Inventory Usage, and other pages where stock selection is required.
