QBench September 28, 2026 Product Release Notes

This release keeps your lab moving. Countersignature requests reach their signers the moment they're needed, big Sample imports run in the background while you work, Analytics compares your Divisions side by side, and the v2 API takes on more of your lab administration.

Customer Requests (You asked, we delivered!)

• Countersignature Request Notifications: The people who need to countersign a Test are emailed and notified the moment their signature is requested. See details below.
• Background Sample Imports on the Order Page: Import thousands of Samples without the page waiting on it. See details below.
• Division as a Filter and Legend in Analytics: Filter and break out Assay, Panel, and Batch data by Division. See details below.
• Lab Administration on API v2: Manage custom actions, seats, licenses, Record locking, and QMS Records through the API. See details below.

Status Workflows

• Countersignature Request Notifications: When a transition requires a countersignature, the counter-signer will receive a notification. As soon as the first signature is captured, everyone named under "Countersignature allowed by" receives an email and an in-app notification linking to the Test.
  • The email names the Test, both statuses, and who signed first and when.
  • Naming a team notifies every member of that team.
  • These requests are not governed by personal notification preferences. A requested signature email is always sent.
• Named Countersigners Are Now Required: "Countersignature allowed by" starts empty when you enable countersignature on a transition, and the transition cannot be saved until you name a person or a team. Selecting "Anyone" is still available and will let any permitted user countersign, but it does not send notifications to prevent noisy alerts.

Orders

• Background Sample Imports on the Order Page: Importing a large Sample file no longer blocks you from doing other work. Submit the import and the page comes back in seconds while the work continues in the background.
  • A banner above the Samples section shows the import running, then confirms how many Samples were created when it finishes.
  • The import keeps running if you close the tab or move on, and the banner is still there when you return. Colleagues viewing the same Order see the same progress.
  • A second import cannot start while one is running, so a slow import can no longer turn into a duplicated set of Samples.
  • An import that fails creates nothing, so you never have to clean up a half-finished batch before retrying.
  • Files of more than 3,000 rows are turned away immediately with a message telling you to split them.

Analytics Plus/Pro

• Division as a Filter and Legend: Divisions are now available in Analytics for Assay, Panel, and Batch data. Filter a dashboard to a single Division to see one lab's activity on its own, or add Division as a legend to stack a chart and compare Divisions side by side. Labs running several Divisions can now easily answer which lab is running what.

API v2

• Lab Administration on API v2: The API now covers additional configuration endpoints:
  • Create and manage custom actions, including who is allowed to run them.
  • Assign and release subscription seats, and read your license inventory.
  • Lock and unlock Records with a reason, and get a clear, specific error when a Record is locked rather than a generic failure.
  • Manage QMS Equipment, and QMS Issues along with their comments and status transitions.
  • Manage QMS Documents, their attachments, and each attachment's versions.
  • Every write is audited, permission-scoped, and safe to retry, and list endpoints support last-modified cursors so an integration can sync incrementally.
